"A truthful answer, an honest opinion"

Remembered by Barbara Holer Klemann:

When we were children, Marilyn and I met at Saint Luke’s Lutheran Church in New Rochelle. I can’t remember exactly what our ages were but we could not have been more than 8 or 9. Our friendship lasted until her death in 1998. It survived grammar school, Albert Leonard Junior High School, New Rochelle High School, boyfriends, college, marriages and divorce, births and deaths, disappointments and happiness. We were always there for each other. I can’t imagine what my life would have been without her.

When my first child was born, Tracey Lynne Villaverde Pratt, Marilyn would come over after school and keep me company. She made Tracey a gigantic Raggedy Ann doll. It was so big that Tracey was able to wear the clothes for her second Halloween. They were still a little big. Tracey still has the doll. I have so many wonderful stories about Marilyn that I could go on forever. She is still a part of me and I think about her every day especially when August comes around.

Thank you Marilyn for being a part of my life. I miss you terribly.
